Our Story
Crunchy’s Waffles is a family business that was founded in 2015.
All members grew up in Maastricht, the Netherlands (yes, the city of André Rieu*!). This city lies in the southern province of Limburg. The lifestyle of the people of Limburg is characterised as Burgundian: a love for life, expressed through the importance of enjoying good quality food & drinks (lots of both!) in good company.
Let us share a piece of our Burgundian culture with you: premium quality waffles, hot chocolate, and ice cream in an ambiance that is gezellig.
The Bus
Our iconic Leyland Atlantean double-decker bus certainly adds to our ambiance!
The bus has the 4926th Leyland chassis (of all types) built in 1979, and the type is AN68B/1R. The bus was first registered on 1 February 1980 to Plymouth Corporation (UK) as a commuter bus with number 159. It was later transformed into a tourist bus used for sightseeing. The license plate has been ODV203W from the start.
Purchased by our family, the bus was brought to Belgium to get a fresh lick of paint and new seats.
After a three month journey to Australia in 2017, the bus was finally converted into the waffle bus it is today.
