Markets, Festivals & Events
Why invite Crunchy's?
Our bus is an attraction in itself at your event. Young and old love the concept of being able to sit and eat on top of a real English double decker bus. We offer approx. 37 seats for our patrons. People might visit us for the bus at first, but they return for our food. We pride ourselves on serving beautiful & freshly cooked waffles.
Where do you travel?
We usually travel within Logan, Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and the Gold Coast. The Big Blue Bus has a less than ideal speed limit and an enormous thirst for diesel, so we only travel outside of these areas if the event is a large (+20,000 visitors a day) multi-day event.
Things to consider
Our dimensions
Driving: 10m (l) x 4m (h) x 2.5m (w)
Stationary: 10m (l) x 6.5m (h) x 3.2 (w)
Weight: 12,000 kg
Access to your terrain
- The terrain should be able to carry the weight of the bus. We strongly prefer to be placed on a road, as the bus risks getting stuck on muddy dirt roads and/or grass, especially after or on a rainy day.
- The terrain and/or event decoration should not provide any obstacles for the bus entering and leaving the event, nor when the bus is stationary. Please consider low hanging decorative lights, tree branches, signage etc.
- Steep driveways and/or deep gutters are a massive challenge for our bus as the front of the bus may hit or scrape the ground when driving up or down (see example picture on the right).
Most organisations we work with have gutter ramps and/or mats available (that are suitable for trucks/buses). If you don’t have these, please notify us.- Please also consider any difficulties that may arise by having to manoeuvre in between other food trucks. If the area is small, we are usually the very first or the very last to bump in.
Facilities
For a one-day event we would appreciate the availability of 4x 15a power and access to potable water. If the bus has to stay overnight, access to power and water is an absolute requirement. If patrons have access to the area behind the bus, we expect the organisation to provide safety matting and cable protection.
Capacity
- Because we (have to) cook our waffles to order, we have a limited output capacity of approx. 40 waffles an hour.
- We can seat approx. 37 patrons at a time (Safety first: We reserve the right to close access to our upper deck due to e.g. weather conditions).
Site fees & Trade
- As we have a limited output capacity, we put a limit on what we are able and willing to pay in site fees.
- We are prepared to pay the same as any other (dessert) food truck, in other words; we don’t agree to pay fees per square metre and/or length. We may take up space, but we give back: an eye catcher at your event, seating space, and a unique experience to your visitors.
- We reserve the right to serve any and all products on our menu at our discretion. As such, we don’t accept any limitations to our product range, including drinks.
